November 7, 2005

Dear Friend,

Welcome to the first edition of Solorio for Assembly E-News! I will be sending you periodic updates on the progress of my campaign as we head into the June 2006 primary election and then the November 2006 general election.

Below are some brief updates:

- On October 6th at the Laborers' Union Hall, I formally announced my candidacy for the 69th Assembly District seat. We raised $50,000 at the announcement ceremony! Attending the event were nearly 150 small business leaders, labor representatives, elected and community leaders, as well as many friends and family members. We were especially pleased to have Assemblyman Tom Umberg join us.

- In addition to the funds raised at my announcement ceremony, my assembly committee received $52,000 from my city council campaign committee. This means we raised over $100,000 in less than 45 days for my Assembly race.

- To ensure victory in the 2006 elections, I have assembled an “A” list team of experienced Sacramento campaign consultants: Ross Communications to handle political strategy and media; Sandino Consulting to assist with fundraising; and, James R. Santos to serve as campaign treasurer. Ross Communications, which helped Senator Joe Dunn win his previous two elections in Orange County, will also be running Assemblyman Tom Umberg’s campaign for State Senate.

- Right now, as you can imagine, I have also been involved in helping defeat the Governor’s so-called “reform” initiatives. I’ve been phone banking and working with the media to make sure we get our message and vote out. My prediction: I think the people will win and Schwarzenegger will lose!

Thank you for reading Solorio for Assembly E-News and please remember to vote tomorrow!
